Well intended supervisors might say “everyone be safe out there,” however we know that saying it is just not going to be enough to keep workers safe. It takes leadership to guide employees towards safer outcomes.

It is simplistic to suggest that the cause of accidents are the workers. We know this because there are a multitude of variables influencing the causes of accidents, including facility and equipment design, the relevancy and effectiveness of training, the competency of leadership, the attitude and values that employees share in relation to workplace safety.

The people that lead successful workplaces understand that a safe and healthy workplace is a productive workplace. They also know that they must work together. A safe workplace matters to everyone, you can make a difference in your workplace, but you can’t do it alone.
